Water flow monitor LWW 20, with relay, sensor and platinum double electrode
The LWW 20 water flow monitor with relay, sensor and platinum double electrode is an advanced and reliable monitoring system for cooling water flow (e.g., on a distillation condenser). The device is designed for the automatic safety shutdown of downstream, electrically heated equipment in the event of a cooling water shortage, thereby protecting laboratory setups from damage and overheating.
The water flow monitor tracks the flow rate via a platinum contact sensor on the discharge side (10.8 mm hose nozzle) of the unit being monitored. The platinum sensor is connected to the relay housing by a 5 m cable. The electrical power supply of the consumer units (e.g., the heater of a distillation system) is connected to this relay. If there is a cooling water shortage, the relay permanently shuts down the connected heating element, and an acoustic and visual alarm is triggered. Once the flow rate has been restored, the system can be manually reactivated by pressing the unlock button to resume heating operations. This device operates exclusively with electrically conductive cooling media!
