The two-part cold trap made of high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3 is an indispensable laboratory device for vacuum applications, distillations, and vapor condensation. It reliably protects vacuum pumps from ingress of vapors and solvents.

Operating principle: The cold trap is installed between the vacuum system and the pump. Vapors escaping from the process condense in the cold trap and are thus kept away from the vacuum system. This protects the vacuum pump from damage caused by aggressive chemicals and significantly extends its service life.

Design features: The cold trap consists of two parts – a lower part with a standard ground glass joint and an upper part with a standard ground glass sleeve. The two parts are securely connected using the included Keck clamp. The side connections are designed as olive-shaped fittings, allowing for easy connection of hoses for cooling or vacuum systems.

Available variants:

  • 100 ml version: Standard ground joint NS 29/32, side olive connections 11 mm
  • 250 ml version: Standard ground joint NS 45/40, side olive connections 12 mm

Both versions are supplied complete with Keck clamp and are made of chemically and thermally highly resistant borosilicate glass 3.3.

Laboratory applications:

The cold trap is universally applicable in vacuum distillations, freeze-drying, rotary evaporation and all processes where vapors need to be condensed and kept away from the vacuum system.
