Ball joint clamps are essential tools for the secure fixation and sealing of ball and socket joint connections in laboratory applications. These fork clamps made of high-quality 18/8 stainless steel (1.4301/AISI 304) enable precise and force-fit connection of two ball joint components. The integrated set screw ensures constant contact pressure and prevents unintentional loosening during operation.

Technical Features:
  • Material: 18/8 stainless steel (1.4301/AISI 304)
  • Design: Fork clamp with two clamping jaws
  • With set screw for permanent fixation
  • For ball and socket joints according to DIN 12242
  • Corrosion-resistant and chemically inert
  • Polished surface for gentle handling of glassware
  • Reusable and autoclavable
Functionality:

The fork clamp is placed over the two ball joint halves and encloses them form-fit. By tightening the set screw, uniform pressure is applied to the connection, firmly pressing the ball and socket surfaces together. This ensures a vacuum-tight and pressure-resistant connection.

Application Areas:
  • Distillation apparatus
  • Reaction setups
  • Vacuum and pressure applications
  • Synthesis systems
  • Extraction apparatus
  • Schlenk lines and inert gas systems
  • General laboratory setups with ball joint connections
Application Notes:
  • Ball joint clamps should be selected according to size to match the ball joint standard used
  • The set screw should be hand-tightened but not over-tightened to avoid glass breakage
  • Thermal expansion should be considered when temperature changes occur

The ball joint clamps are available in various sizes from KS 13/5 to KS 65/40, covering virtually all common ball joint connections in the laboratory.
