Two-part cold trap with side NS connections and Keck clamp, borosilicate glass 3.3
The two-part cold trap made of high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3 is specifically designed for demanding vacuum applications. Thanks to its standard ground glass joint connections (core NS 29/32 and sleeve NS 29/32), it offers maximum flexibility in the construction of complex vacuum systems and reliably protects vacuum pumps from vapor ingress.
Operating principle: The cold trap is installed between the vacuum system and the pump. Vapors escaping from the process condense in the cold trap and are thus kept away from the vacuum system. This effectively protects the vacuum pump from damage caused by aggressive chemicals, solvents, and moisture.
Design features: The cold trap consists of two parts:
Bottom part with standard ground glass core (depending on the variant NS 29/32 or NS 45/40)
Top part with standard ground glass sleeve (depending on the variant NS 29/32 or NS 45/40)
The two parts are securely and tightly connected using the included Keck clamp. The side connections are designed as NS 29/32 core and NS 29/32 sleeve, allowing for the direct connection of additional glassware or the construction of cooling circuits.
Available variants:
- 100 ml version: Main standard ground joint NS 29/32 (core/sleeve), side connections core NS 29/32 + sleeve NS 29/32
- 250 ml version: Main standard joint NS 45/40 (core/sleeve), side connections core NS 29/32 + sleeve NS 29/32
Both versions are supplied complete with Keck clamp and are made of chemically and thermally highly resistant borosilicate glass 3.3.
Laboratory applications:
The cold trap is universally applicable in vacuum distillations, freeze-drying, rotary evaporation, chemical syntheses under vacuum, and all processes where vapors must be condensed and kept away from the vacuum system. The side NS connections also allow for the construction of complex cooling and vacuum systems.
