Erlenmeyer flasks with baffles
Erlenmeyer flasks with baffles offer the ideal solution for demanding shaking cultures in microbiology and cell biology. The integrated baffles disrupt the laminar flow, ensuring highly effective mixing, improved homogeneity, and a significantly increased oxygen transfer into the medium. Depending on your requirements, two proven designs are available: with a classic, reinforced beaded rim or with a secure GL screw thread including a heat-resistant PBT screw cap and PTFE-coated seal.
Technical Features
- Material: High-quality borosilicate glass 3.3 according to DIN ISO 3585
- Designs: Choice of reinforced beaded rim or GL screw thread (GL 25, GL 32, or GL 45 depending on volume)
- Screw closure: PBT cap with PTFE-coated seal (heat-resistant up to +200 °C)
- Baffles: 3 or 4 baffles (optimized depending on nominal volume for maximum mixing)
- Properties: High chemical and thermal resistance, clear graduation for volume orientation
- Sterilization: Fully autoclavable (observe instructions)
Application Note on Autoclaving:
For models with a screw closure, the cap must only be loosely placed and not tightly screwed on during autoclaving to ensure adequate pressure equalization and to prevent glass breakage.
